Or just don’t buy them in the first place …
I like multifunctional items. They save space, money, time and really … why get 2 things if you only need one?
I’m sure most people agree with me, but I’ve found that there are some things people just don’t see as a multifunctional thing. So let me expand your horizon :-) Below you’ll find a few items that I don’t own, what I use instead and the reasons why.
A bath mat
You know those things you put around you when you get out of the shower? You can use those on the floor as well! They’re called towels I think … Crazy, right?!
Watering can
I already own an electric kettle and I simply use that to water my plants. I mean, it’s designed to hold water and easily pour it … Why would you get a second kettle … one that can’t even heat water? ;-)
Pyjamas
I’ve already written about this in an other post but let me repeat myself: a pair of leggings works just fine as pyjama pants.
Paper towels
So I already try to use as little paper towels as possible (a kitchen rag is much more eco-friendly) but when I do need to wipe something up, I simply use some toilet paper (I have one roll on hand in the kitchen). Sure, it might not be as sturdy as a paper towel, but trust me … it does the job just fine.
TV
So I’m not going to start a debate about wether you should watch TV or not, but if you do there’s a much better option than having a TV set in the living room: a projector. It’s smaller, you don’t notice as much and when you decide to watch TV it feels more like an experience. And as an added benefit, you don’t get blue light blasted in your eyes, so you might find it easier to get to sleep.
Bag clips
You know those colourful clip thingies that you can use to close a half-full chips bag? Why not just use a clothes pin? I actually find they work even better.
Do you have more ideas? Let me know in the comments and I’ll try it out!
Thank you for the great tips! I will start by throwing some stuff out :)
You’re welcome :-D
